Tour Description
Our tour you will get the full picture of the remarkable
fossil findings there and why the site is so important.
Walk through Sterkfontein Caves and Maropeng to see
the fossils of hominids such as Little Foot and Mrs. Ples,
two of the greatest archaeological discoveries of our
time.
AVAILABILITY:
Daily – except on New Year’s Day, Good Friday &
Christmas Day (some attractions may be closed on
other public holidays).
MEALS:
Not included – Restaurant for lunch will be arranged.
TRANSPORT:
Air-conditioned vehicle with wifi dependant on group
size.

Itinerary
Sterkfontein Caves.
The tours at the Sterkfontein Caves, start above ground
where you will be introduced to “Mrs Ples”, the “Taung
Child” and “Little Foot” before heading underground
to explore the caves.
Maropeng Visitor Centre.
Take a journey through time, starting with the
formation of the planet and moving all the way
through the evolutionary processes that
culminated in the world as we know it today.
See fossils, learn about how humankind was
born, view stone tools that are up to one million
years old, and much more. This self-guided,
interactive tour allows you to take all the time
you need to ponder humanity’s fascinating
origin story.
Safari Experience at The Rhino & Lion Park.
The Lion & Safari Park is home to a
vast selection of indigenous species
such as Lion (Brown and White),
Cheetah, Hyena (Spotted and
Striped), Leopard (including black
leopard), Wild Dogs, Sable antelope,
Kudu, Nyala to mention only a few.
During the tour you will enjoy a
variety of different guided
informative and educational tours.
